Traffic Scene Analysis

Able to develop algorithms for object detection, tracking, counting, anomaly detection, incident detection, and license plate recognition. These algorithms are running above 20.000+ cameras for more secure and comfortable transportation.

Able to process both on the edge and center using CPU, GPU, VPU, and NPU’s. Capable of developing real-time working algorithms based on CNN’s that can work 24/7 both day and night under different weather conditions for outdoor and indoor environments.

These algorithms are powering adaptive junction management systems, incident detection systems, traffic data collection systems, and enforcement systems.

Sensor Development and Integration

Able to develop different kinds of sensors that are capable of running outdoor and indoor environments. These sensors can provide a wide range of data about the traffic flow that can contribute to traffic management and anomaly detection. Different types of sensors installed across a region can dramatically increase the reliability and accuracy of decision-making algorithms used in traffic management systems while building up a historical data stack that helps forecasting and redundancy analysis.

These sensors can be integrated with any traffic management system to be used as a supportive data resource.

Central Management and Control Software

Database Management
Frontend / Backend design and development
API using and development

Central Management and Control Software

Able to design and develop central software for city traffic control central. These softwares provide required all functionalities that are needed to manage the city traffic network. At the same time, all collected data and developed algorithms are managed efficiently with a single interface. It provides valuable outputs to the user in the decision support phase through the reports and graphics produced. Thus, service and maintenance costs are reduced and a significant human resource is saved.

These softwares are platform independent and open source is preferred during the development phase. System users can monitor, control and interfere with the system through web and mobile based interfaces.

City Traffic Network Monitor and Sensor Fusion

Developed algorithms for processing Bluetooth sensor data and Floating Car Data (FCD), both offline and real-time to integrate with traffic control systems. Collected data from FCD is processed both offline and in real-time for being used to calculate speed profiles and analyze traffic occupancy, congestion, and incidents.

The normal behavior of the road segments is distilled from speed profiles and real-time anomaly detection is carried out. Speed profiles are also used to estimate the queue lengths in the intersection. In order to analyze the whole city in real-time, distributed processing tools are used.

Bluetooth sensor data is also processed both offline and in realtime for extracting Origin-Destination (OD) matrices and travel time information between sensors. Analysis results are visualized in the developed web interface to share them with the decision-makers.

Traffic Engineering Services

Intersection, Corridor and Signal Design

Geometric design of signalized and roundabout junctions, merging locations and corridors, signal duration optimization, signal coordination and signal design works are done through internationally accepted geometric road standards (Highway Capacity Manual 2010 HCM).

Traffic Simulation

PTV Group software is mainly used for testing traffic engineering studies. It is possible to evaluate the benefits of a project via before-after studies in a simulation environment.

Traffic Impact Analysis

The purpose of Traffic Impact Studies is to evaluate the impact of a planned project on traffic production and attraction ability.

Traffic Safety Projects

Road safety studies have attracted great attention in recent years. The studies focus on detection of accident hotspots, analysis of traffic accident statistics and planning of policies to minimize accident risk at such locations. These studies are supported by internationally accepted resources such as Highway Safety Manual, 2010 HSM.

Parking Studies

Parking design projects, traffic simulation for parking areas, mitigation scenarios.

Public Transportation Studies

Analysis of public transport smart card data to plan and optimize public transport lines.

Micro-mobility and Accessibility Analysis

Beyond vehicular traffic, we provide solutions for pedestrian, bicycle and scooter users such as; campus accessibility analysis, bike lane design, ITS for micro-mobility users etc.

Trainings with Certification

Three of the limited number of PTV Group Certified Trainers in the world are working in ISSD. More than 15 trainings about traffic engineering, traffic simulations and macro modelling are given during the 1 year period.
